Pingtan Raxing by Blackjack and Pingtan Raxing by ART are entering four cars in the third round of the FIA F4 Chinese Championship at the 4.010 km Ningbo International Speedpark.
Leading the four-car team is Albert Jiang, a two-time winner this season. The Chinese driver is aiming for more success at Ningbo, a track both he and the team know well. With Blackjack Racing operating from the Ningbo circuit, this event is truly a “home race” for the entire team.
Returning to the team will be Alex Sawer, the winner of the opening race of the season at the Shanghai International Circuit in April. The Vietnamese driver is racing in Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine this season, but he found a gap on his tight schedule to return to China’s only national single seater series. Despite his lesser experience behind the wheel of this F4 and lesser knowledge of the circuit compared to his opposition, Alex Sawer will try to fight for victories throughout the weekend.
Another returning racer this weekend is Allen Lu. After gaining initial experience with the new Mygale M21-F4 car at the last event in Chengdu, Lu is still mastering the French-made car’s nuances. As a podium finisher in the Challenger class, he is focused on improving his pace and successfully completing all four races this weekend.
Hailing from Chinese Taipei, Richard Lin is set to make his highly anticipated debut in the FIA F4 Chinese Championship at Ningbo. While his ambitions are understandably measured, Lin is committed to delivering his best performance. Joining the esteemed ranks of Pingtan Raxing by ART, alongside former karting and touring car driver Allen Lu, Lin is poised to make a significant impact on the track.
Ahead of this event, Albert Jiang lies now in second in the Drivers Standings with 101 points, only 9 points shy from the leadership. Pingtan Raxing by Blackjack is now third in the Teams’ Championship.
Commenting about the weekend ahead, Team Principal Jack Pang said “All the drivers and staff members of Blackjack and ART are giving their 110% to prepare for this home race for us. Our goal is to demonstrate the best of our abilities next weekend.”
The third round of the 2024 FIA F4 Chinese Championship officially starts on Friday with two 30-minute Free Practice sessions in the morning, followed by two qualifying sessions in the afternoon. The first two 30-minute races, plus one lap, will take place on Saturday, with the other scheduled for Sunday.
