Blackjack Racing drivers Jack Pang Changyuan and Li Sicheng won the GTC class in both races at the season finale of the GT Sprint Challenge (GTSC) held at the Zhuhai International Circuit last weekend.
Although Blackjack Racing is not competing in the GTSC series this season and therefore did not have any specific result ambitions, the drivers were highly motivated to enjoy a weekend of great action on the track and having fun off it. The two Chinese drivers shared the driving duties in the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo Evo 2 run by Blackjack Racing.
Despite having limited experience behind the wheel of this Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia car and not taking unnecessary risks, Jack Pang and Li Sicheng qualified just behind the fastest GT3 car pack. Under normal conditions, the two drivers knew it would be challenging to beat the GT3 cars on the winding layout of the first permanent circuit built in China.
In the opening race on Saturday, with the grandstands packed with spectators, the Chinese duo had an entertaining start and maintained their pace throughout, crossing the finish line successfully in the GTC class P1 and seventh overall.
In the final GTSC showdown of the season, Jack Pang and Li Sicheng benefitted from an accident ahead of them to gain a couple of positions. The duo maintained a strong pace, crossing the finish line first in the GTC class and fifth overall.
Commenting about the race weekend, Jack Pang said: “It’s been a fantastic learning experience! Racing alongside my good friend Li Sicheng, feeling the support of huge crowds, celebrating victories, and finishing without a scratch — there’s no better way to spend a weekend!”
