Blackjack Racing is happy to announce its participation in the second round of the China Endurance Championship (CEC), fielding a Ligier JS P3 (LMP3) with Zheng Wancheng as one of the drivers. The race will take place from June 28 to 30 at the Qinhuangdao Shougang International Circuit.
Seasoned racer Zheng Wancheng, with extensive experience in the CEC, China GT Championship, TCR China, TCR Asia Series, and FIA Chinese Formula 4 Championship, brings a wealth of expertise and a competitive edge to the team on its debut in the LMP3 category in the CEC.
Racing with Zheng is his racing trainee, who is new to the sport. He will be making his racing debut following an intensive training program with Formula Renault 2.0. The young driver is focused on a flawless weekend, fully aware of the high standards and fierce competition he will face.
Revealed during the 2015 Le Mans 24 Hours week, the Ligier JS P3 was the car chosen for the 2017 and 2018 LMP3 China series. Powered by a 5-litre Nissan V8 engine, the Ligier JS P3 is characterized by driver comfort, reliability, and performance. Compared to its rivals in the LMP3 class, it is known to have a lower top speed but an advantage in the corners.
For Blackjack Racing, this will be its first appearance in the LMP3 category, although the sister team, Asia Racing Team, ran the PTRS outfit to the FRD LMP3 Series title in 2018.
The weekend officially kicks off with a one-hour Free Practice session, followed by a 20-minute Qualifying session on Friday. The one-hour sprint race takes place on Saturday, and the two-and-a-half-hour main race is scheduled to start at 14:30 (local time) on Sunday.
