Li Sicheng is returning to Blackjack Racing for the opening round of the FIA F4 Chinese Championship, which will take place as part of the Chinese F1 Grand Prix weekend in Shanghai on April 20th and 21st.
The experienced Chinese driver has been racing in single-seaters for the past few years and did not want to miss the opportunity to drive the new Mygale M21-F4 car during the weekend when China welcomes back the world’s biggest motorsport competition, and the grandstands of the Shanghai International Circuit are expected to be flooded with spectators.
Having begun his racing career in the United States of America, Li Sicheng is also a symbol of the relationship between BlackJack Racing and the Asia Racing Team, having finished on the podium in the 2021 Formula 4 Macau Grand Prix when both teams were merely technical partners. He had the chance to driver the new French-built car during the team’s shakedown in Ningbo two weeks ago.
Commenting on his return to racing, Li Sicheng said: “It’s a great honor to join Blackjack Racing. The team’s service is highly professional, and both the mechanics and engineers are also very experienced. I am looking forward to the race results in Shanghai this year.”
Team Principal Jack Pang added: “Great to have my dear friend Sicheng back to my team. I know he’s excited for the race and has been doing physical training. He’s a talented racer who’s always quick to adapt. I look forward to seeing his performance.”
The FIA F4 Chinese Championship kicks off with two practice sessions on Friday, April 19th. On Saturday morning, cars hit the asphalt of the Chinese FIA Grade 1 circuit for a 25-minute qualifying session, followed by the opening race in the afternoon. The weekend concludes with a second 30-minute race plus one lap on Sunday morning.
