A new chapter of the China GT Championship is set to begin this weekend at Ningbo International Speedpark, with Blackjack Racing joining the grid in the GTC category with a Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo Evo 2.
Experienced drivers Pang Changyuan and Li Sicheng will reunite after their dominant performance in the GTC class at last season’s GT Sprint Challenge (GTSC) finale at Zhuhai International Circuit, where they secured victory in both races. The duo will aim to carry this momentum into the new season on a circuit they both know well.
The China GT Championship is sanctioned by the China Automobile and Motorcycle Sports Federation (CAMF), the governing body for motorsport in China, which remains committed to developing the country’s racing scene. A key change for 2025 sees the series now promoted by Topspeed Shanghai, a motorsport event management company with extensive experience in race operations across Asia and the Middle East.
Ningbo marks the opening round of a championship that will visit some of Mainland China’s most iconic racing circuits, including Shanghai International Circuit, the home of the Chinese Formula One Grand Prix, Tianjin V1 International Circuit, and Zhuhai International Circuit.
Team Principal and driver Pang Changyuan shared his excitement ahead of the weekend: “I’m thrilled to be back on track with Sicheng! It’s also fantastic to see our good friends at Topspeed reviving the prestigious China GT Championship. Ningbo is Blackjack Racing’s home circuit, and for me, it feels like a second home.”
Macau Grand Prix F4 podium finisher Li Sicheng added: “It’s great to see GTSC evolve into the China GT Championship this year. Hopefully, this brings greater exposure and attracts more high-profile drivers to the sport in China.”
With two qualifying sessions on Saturday morning, the opening race of the season – 38 minutes plus one lap – is scheduled to start at 15:40 on Saturday.
