Liu is now competing in the Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup this year, and is joining Asian Formula Renault Series fraternity for the first Pan Delta Festival Racing Weekend of the year.
The former China GT Championship and F3 Asian Championship driver has become an online celebrity in China, appearing in a number of popular online reality shows, winning himself a legion of fans and followers. Today he represents Audi Sport customer racing Asia as an ambassador in China, the brands’ largest market worldwide.
Liu explains “My primary focus is to enjoy the weekend. I want to continue to gain as much experience as possible, and this race puts me in a great position to do so. I’m really looking forward to driving a formula car and to compete against the fastest drivers in AFR Series.”
Team Manager Rodolfo Avila added, “We are very excited to have Ryan join the Asia Racing Team family this weekend. I know Ryan well from last year’s F3 Asian series. He impressed during winter testing, showing us he had the pace and determination to fight at the front of the pack. This weekend will no doubt prepare him for the future that follows.”
The race weekend will commence on Friday 22nd March with two 30-minute official practice. Saturday 23rd March afternoon will host the qualifying in the morning and the first race of the weekend in the afternoon. The second 30-minute + 1 lap race will be held on Sunday 24th March morning.
